    laptop slows down need help

    hey guys i have a relitively new laptop and i have a problem...everytime i click on something that has to do with security, or some form of computer security pops up my computer slow down to the point where i cant do anything...this problem just all of a sudden started today, i have not had this problem in the past...when i try to open my anti virous my computer just totally freezes for hours and i have no idea what to do...thanks in advance

    it would help greatly if you could provide some specifics:

    computer brand and model
    disk drive and ram
    OS and patch/version level
    major installed programs
    what kind of antivirus
    wireless or wired networking
    anything that might have changed in the past two weeks

    Get a portable anti virus, go to safe mode and run it off a usb :D

    Or follow the above guide to see if it is the stated virus.

    try re installing your anti virus programme and see if it works.

    What kind of security pop-up?

    Maybe post a picture of it.

    Anti virus - what kind of anti virus?

    And as one poster mentioned above - specs would be great too, as well as system details, i.e. OS.
