I just bought a HP dv6 1359wm. It was a great deal, brand new. The only thing I didn't get was a blu ray player/burner. I know it is available as an option though. Anyone know where, what model or costs to but? And is it simple enough to install myself? Please help!

    Probably very simple to install.

Most likely very expensive to buy (maybe more than the whole nb).

Keep in mind you'll need software to be able to see Blu Ray movies too, even with the BR drive successfully installed in your new notebook.

    Good luck.

Let me ask differently. What must I do exactly to install a BR player in this NB? I want to burn, watch etc.

    1. Buy a BlueRay player/burner
    2. Swap out your old CD/DVD drive.
    3. Put the new one in
    4. Download a BlueRay Player/bruner software
    5. Instert a BlueRay disc
    6. Burn/Watch

    :)

Just keep in mind that you'll be limited to 720p, which you may or may not care about.

Just curious as to the limitation you suggest? Is it because of the OP's screen resolution, the BD player or the software? What if he connects via HDMI to a 1080p monitor?

    Thanks in advance. :)

It might even be cheaper to return the notebook and buy another one with the desired configuration.

As for the laptop, It will be for watching on the fly, traveling etc. It does have HDMI to connect to a tv which I probably won't do. The screen is full HD resolution. So to watch movies with the kids 720p would be OK unless this laptop will support the 1080? Does anyone know where I can buy the BR player cheap and software too? THANKS bigtime for all the responses!
