    is TRIM standard in most SSD's now?

    On crucial, and dabs, most SSD's dont specify TRIM in their specs. does this mean that TRIM is standard now days, or does it mean that only a small number of SSD's support TRIM?

    And don't forget the OS must support the TRIM set as well.

    Nearly every single SSD supports TRIM. Also mind that your OS has to support TRIM. Older SSDs and certain Samsungs have good garbage collection built into the controller so you don't need to have TRIM (also for OS that didn't support TRIM).

    Well without TRIM, it may take a long time for the SSD to recover, which would mean lots of log off idle time, or if you filled the drive to near capacity, it would completely bork the drive and never recover. This happened to me with an old Samsung 256GB without TRIM.
