    integrated or dedicated graphics?

    i was thinking of getting a notebook but am under some confusion regarding graphics cards. i quite like the latitude d820 with nvidia quadro but how does this compare to notebooks with dedicated graphics cards such as the sony vaios? :confused:

    Depends on which Sony you're talking about. Also, the Nvidia Quadro NVS is a dedicated graphics solution, not integrated.

    thanks for clearing that one up, so how does the quadro compare to the GeForce Go 7600 of the vaio FE690PB

    The 7600 will be superior by a wide margin.

    One big factor that you have to bear in mind is wether you are going to do any gaming or not.

    If you are simply using your notebook for office work...microsoft office/web designing/photoshop, you won't notice any difference in grapical quality.

    In gaming, the diffence is huge.

    Just to clarify and take that a step further, in office work you absolutely don't need anything beyond integrated graphics, IMHO.
