    i wnated to know that does the processor affect the speed at which a program is installed.

    Usually the hard drive speed is more important as it wait for data to be read by the drive. Of course CPU plays it part as well.

    If you have the same processor which is in your sig, the processor is plenty fast to open the programs. It is the harddrive and the extra programs on your system which are slowing you down.
    When you bought your dell, I hope you uninstalled all dell software, becuase its all crap. Remove the unwanted software which you will never use, and defreag and disc cleanup and your system should run better.

    If you want apps to load faster go with a 7200rpm drive, if you do not already have one.
    Also in Dell Bios, you have the option to limit harddrive speed. Usually dell defaults the bios to slow the harddrive down so that it is quieter. Just put hdd acoustics to normal.
