My Dell inspiron 1501's laptop lcd is dead, or is it?
What happens is for a couple of seconds it will show the boot screen, it will go up to the "boot windows normally" screen and then i will hear some flickering and some sounds and the screen just goes black.
So is this a graphics problem, loose cable or what?

Try to isolate it to the screen or to the video card.

If you connect it through VGA or HDMI out to another monitor/TV, do you get video output?

From your description, I'll guess that it is the screen connections itself that are heating up/shorting - but it might also be the video card too making the 'sounds' you hear.

    Good luck.

I think taking it to a friend who has a tv or a monitor should be your priority. Tearing it open may yield nothing but a headache as hardware issues are not always visible if you dont know what you are looking for exactly.
