I'm on the edge of purchasing my Sony Vaio S13, still doubting i7 or i5?
As you can see the price difference is 180 EURO (total price about 926 or 1096). I'm really afraid of feeling sorry next year that I didn't get the i7 .

    Intel®Core(TM)i5-3210M, 2,5GHz
met Intel® Turbo Boost Technology tot 3.10 Ghz met 3 MB L3 Cache

    Intel®Core(TM)i7-3520M, 2,9GHz [+ 180.0 € ]
met Intel® Turbo Boost Technology tot 3.60 Ghz met 4 MB L3 Cache

    Any advice?

Depends entirely on what you are doing with it. The same as posting should i buy 3m or 5m of rope without saying what it's for.

I'm looking into using the laptop for at least 2 years and hoping to be able to play a game or two. I'm wondering if the 180€ price tag is a bit to much. So if we were in 2014 and it could play a new game on lowest settings I would be happy. (and i'm usually playing low demanding games)

Its the graphixs that dictate that, the cpu will play little to no part.

The new S13 doesn't have a dedicated video, though. How much of a performance difference is there for the HD4000 graphics of these two chips?

According to Intel: Compare Intel® Products

The i7 has a boost speed of 1.25GHz vs 1.1GHz on the i5. How much that translates into gaming FPS, who knows. Maybe 1-2FPS at best, likely less.
