Yesterday i lft the laptop downloading some music and then the blue screen appeared and it said something about the hardware, but the screen stayed there it didnt restart windows as it "normally" do, i turned it off with the power button and then restarted it, the hardrive started to do clicking noises, loud clicking noises (i can see the acer F2 option to manage the bios settings but i cant open it) like if it is trying to read the data, and from that moment there is just a black screen and says:

    Broadcom UNDI PXE-2.1 build 082 v6.2.11a
    copyright and a date
    copyright and a date
    PXE-E61:media test failure, check cable

    PXE-M0F:Exiting Broadcom PXE ROM
    Operating system not found

What does that mean,i tried today and the harddrive is still doing that clicking noises
I have an acr aspire 1690 i dont have warranty its been 3 years since i bought the laptop. If it is the hardrive can you help me on how can i replace the hardrive and what do i need to do, i have the acer replacement disks.

You can't go into the BIOS ?
    The HDD is dead....
(Next in order, network boot) Thats why it is trying to boot through the network, but it cannot find any OS though it.

    Your notebook uses IDE Drives.
I would advise you to confirm the interface, by removing the HDD and check if it has the 44-pin interface or not.
