    how do you install a new harddrive will i have to redownload every thing or will it jus boot up like norm i have a toshiba satalite a215 s4697

    You'll need to reinstall Windows and install all your programs. You can transfer your files and data if you put them on a flash drive or put your old HDD in an enclosure.

    If you really want to get around having to reinstall everything, you can image your system with a program like Norton Ghost, but I find images to be pretty unreliable.

    A simple and free alternative to Norton Ghost is the backup utility built into Windows 7.

    ok well thank you my external wont show up on my puter cuz i lost the first adapter and all the other ones dont work cuz its a wd external pieace of crap
