i had this issue too when i tried to partition my drive. run CHKDSK (from the HDD's "properties -> tools" tab), and be sure to check both little boxes in the prompt thingy that comes up (the lower one, which enables restoring faulty sectors, should be checked too). on a side note, this might take a while :)

    hope that helped.

well i made a new partition and it useless as it says unallocated and when i try to make it usable it says i am already at my limit through the magic of google i managed to extend c drive and have the full amount again phew, now i had a section called recovery on partition d now in my panic i deleted d and that became unallocated i have renamed it recovery but have no idea what went in there or how to make it do so again any help would be great,i have the recovery discs that i made when i 1st got this lappy and i did a backup last night that used nearly 7 dvds if thats any help, if the recovery partition is not needed as i have the backups how can i delete the partition as i have tryed to extend but with no joy.
