This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    It's a trick... they achieve the 3000:1 ratio through dynamic backlighting. It works reasonably well but some people do find it irritating and end up switching it off. Without it, most of these monitors have a contrast ratio closer to 700-800:1.

    I suggest you have a look at the Samsung 226BW while you're shopping around.
