Hi - I after some help on upgrading my u9200 laptop
I have changed out the old hdd to sdd and changed out the memory from 2gb to 4gb ram and now using windows 7 64 bit.
The processor what is currently in (which came with the laptop) is a intel core 2 duo cpu T5450 1.6GHz
Would the following processor work on my u9200 laptop?

    http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...H0.Xt9500.TRS0&_nkw=t9500+core+2+duo&_sacat=0

Please note that I am no expert on these matters so an easy yes or no will do and if it is a straight forward fit.

    all opinions welcomed

    See:

From the above link, it looks like a different socket type to me (but others will be better able to help with that).

My main point would be that the platform you have will benefit greatly from Windows 10. I estimate it will prolong it's useful life by at least a couple of years or more.

    Good luck.

Your machine's BIOS might bark at T9500. Something like a T7300/7500/7700 is a much safer bet.

    Happy upgrading.

Right - I have ordered a t9300 p socket which I cross referenced and should be fine.

while I am waiting on the postal service can anyone tell me how to change the processor i.e the strip down and rebuild is it simple??

    thanks in advance
    Jon

jon m, link. Looks easy to me. As far as I understand, you don't need to unscrew anything on the bottom, just take the cover off and unscrew the metal bracket.
