Is it worth obliterating my budget for the increase in FSB speed?

I mean, 800mhz will be perfect with ddr2 6400 ram, so will 1066 fsb not be much of an improvement?

    Many thanks, cobainy

The E6600 is most definitely faster by about 10 - 12%. It has both a higher clock and bus speed. The E6600 is also marginally faster than the identically clocked T7700 because of it's bus speed advantage.

If you can't afford it don't buy it. You'll be happier in the long run.

Do you want portablility or do you want maxiumum performance?

Performance, idealy, but the CPU, if i go for the e6600 would destroy my budget. I mean, it doesn't make a great difference, does it?

Don't destroy your budget man. It is not worth it. I'd go with the T7500. It's the most bang for the buck atm in a Notebook computer. You'll eventually have the option of going up to a 2.8Ghz (when and if they come down to reasonable prices after their relase in Q4)
