I noticed in the service manual that a special bracket is needed in order to install an additional hard drive in a dv9000z. I have not received my new laptop yet, but only ordered a 80GB 5400 RPM drive and was looking to install a 120GB 7200 drive ordered from New Egg and use the 80GB for a backup.

Does the laptop come with both brackets if you don't order a second hard drive on your original order, or will I have to pay the $50 for this bracket?

    Thanks in advance :)

No, unless things have changed, you need to order the bracket separately. There was a dv8000 thread about this in HP/Compaq forum not too long ago if you want the specifics.
