The Pentium M 780 will work in the D810. It is the fastest processor you can put in said machine. It's got the same TDP (or maybe like 2W more or something) as every other Dothan Pentium M so cooling shouldn't be an issue.

There aren't going to be any OC options in the D810 BIOS, but you may be able to OC via software if you know your clock generator and if said clock generator ha some sort of support.

I have a Latitude D610. It's the same as the D810 only with the 14" panel.
I upgraded the D610 last year with the M780 with 2,26 533FSB. It works like a charm and no cooling issues at all.
Also the 2GB is the maximum the BIOS can handle.

If you're not sure about pin modding, I have a 2.13Gh CPU just waiting for you to get that came out of my Dell D810. :)

I can answer it here or in a PM? It will be cheap, but you also may have something I want besides money?

Dang! I was going to tell him a 2gb stick of DD3 ram (pc3 8500), or a 250gb to 320gb 7200 rpm HDD (SATA of course). Those are straight up trades, thanks!

Actually...the card you have I'm sure is pretty good. You would be better off getting a better USB wireless card if anything. I believe the D810 I gave to my brother has the 1470 mini wireless card, which is great.

    Again... :p
I also put in my D610 a new mini PCI WiFi card, cause I have a N-draft wireless network at home.

An example what works great for me:
    TP-Link Wireless N mini PCI Karte Adapter 2T2R WLAN 11n - eBay, PCI-Adapter, WLAN-Geräte, Netzwerk, Modems Adapter, Computer. (Eindtijd 11-jul-10 04:27:29 CEST)

I use my D610 still a lot, cause of its size. I maxed everything possible on this laptop. Only not the screen.
