I'm very new to this forum. I am sorry if i posted this in the wrong section.

The lcd screen of my laptop is damaged and the warranty will not cover it. :(
I googled for the specs and found out that it has a 16" Diagonal High Definition HP Brightview Display.
I asked the local store and they said that it will cost about 600$ to replace it.
What i need to how much it will cost me to buy an replacement LCD.
I also would like to know if the screen can be replaced by a smaller LCD screen.
What should I do? I am very very sad right now. Please help me.

    Thanks in advance.

this is the right section so don't worry. A good suggestion would be for you to just buy a new laptop as paying 600 bucks for a a screen replacement is a waste of cash. You sell of ur laptops part as scrap and earn some cash too.
