Tom's Hardware shows that the MK3252GSX has a maximum power consumption of 3.5W so it will be hot. In comparison, the WD5000BEVT uses about 2.6W. However, my current recommendation is the Hitachi 5K500.B which uses only about 2.3W (I've done my own measurements on both the WD and Hitachi as reported in other threads).
