    What model laptop? 2 GHz is probably plenty, but it's depends on what you do and your laptop.

    2Ghz will be just fine. Upgrading to higher speed may not bring much speed boost. If you don't like to have your notebook lagging, consider upgrading the RAM for an instant speed boost.

    Sidenote, bet OP is from Singapore.

    You upgrade by buying a new processor and replacing the old one. And it also usually voids any warranty you have. For games, the bottleneck is likely to be your GPU. Your CPU is likely to have more than enough power for it so you probably don't really need it.

    C2D 2 GHz can't cause lag...its RAM ...anyway what do u use your laptop for mr. OP??

    If you are having performance issues (ie, your laptop is unacceptably slow), post your hardware specifications and your OS before we move any further.
