    can i upgrade my inspiron 9300?

    hey guys, im curious if i can upgrade my processor...i currently have a pentium M 2.13ghz....it is possible to upgrade to a dual core or core duo 2?....im trying to squeeze some more performance out of it.....any ideas?..im maxed out the ram and video card is overclocked...

    Unfortunately, its not possible. The Pentium M uses a slightly different socket to the Core Duo and Core 2 Duo. The socket it uses has the sam enumber of pins, and is reffered to as Socket 479, but the placement of one pin is slightly different, which makes it incompatible.

    You might want to look at a 7200 rpm hard disk if you are looking to increase performance.

    It looks like you have a Intel Pentium M Dothan 770 (2.13GHz, 533MHz FSB), which makes it not possible to upgrade to a Core Duo or C2D, different socket and FSB speed. But you can upgrade to a Intel Pentium M 780(2.26Ghz, 533Mhz FSB), but you're really not going to see much of a performance increase. Hope this helps. The 7200rpm HD is a good idea.

    i forgot to mention i already have the 7200rpm hard drive..lol..
