Hi, i own a lenovo N100 with a T5500 processor. I was wondering whether the motherboard can support a faster processor? Any suggestions on which processor and roughly how much it might cost?

Thank You in advance for replies.

The N100 should support any Merom Core 2 Duo. Probably the T7200 has the best price/performance ratio. I'd look on eBay. Do you think you need the upgrade? Unless you're maxing the CPU, not many things do, or you need the virtualization the T550 lacks, it's unlikely there'd be a noticeable difference between the T5500 and the T7200. I upgraded to a T7400 from a T2300e, but only cause I got a great price on it and to save myself the hassle of selling it. Most of the time there's no difference. It's often the slower hard drive that is the weak link in the performance chain, especially on a notebook, which mostly use slower drives. Upgrading to a faster hard drive will offer you more bang for the buck and won't void the warranty.
