This may have been brought up before, but I ran a search and didn't find anything so if I missed it, forgive me.

But I just bought a new 2gb stick of ram to add to my 2x1gb making 3gb. I have Vista 32 on an ASUS G1S. When I installed the new 2 gb stick, it would not start. I then took out the 1 gb stick so I only had the 2gb stick. It did not start up either. Does this mean I have a bad stick, or that I have to go into the BIOS or something?

Try booting with the original gb stick only. If it works, then the new ram is bad.

But it does sound like the stick is bad.

yes. try the adinu's way. It is more efficent but make sure you don;t damage the ram. (static energy)
