So I've never had a laptop all desktops but now Im going to get a laptop, but I think it'd be a lot nicer to have audio ports on the side instead of the front, but all the models I'm looking at (T4/500, HP HDX 16/8 t) all have it on the front. Any thoughts?

Get an express card dedicated audio adapter. Better sound + audio ports on the side.

You can also get usb audio adapter as well.
