hi, i know I'm new so i hope there's not too much noob bashing. anyways, does anyone know what of connector (or connection) this is? this is the inside of my p-6860fx. i was trying to figure this out so i could find out how i would be able to connect my wireless gaming receiver permanently. i take a my laptop a lot of places and i really get tired of it being in the way and being a hassle. don't worry, i know how to solder (certified hvac tech and ASE electrician). so can anyone help me out? much thanks in advance.

If your referring to the white slot, it's a mini PCI-E slot, for wireless card, tv tuner etc etc.

You have two mini pcie ports in your laptop. One is already occupied with a wireless card. I cant tell which one, but its either the 4965 or the 5300.

I dont know how you are going to be able to solder something like that and affix it to the intenal port.
Is your wireless gaming receiver a USB one?
If it is, chances are you can rip apart the wireless dongle thing, and mount that in the open area inside your laptop.
All laptops have internal USB, some have an internal hub, for accessories like webcams, or you can just solder lines from the actual USB port on the motherboard. After doing this, you can solder say 18" wires and run them through the laptop, into the area where the wireless card can be located. Than use like hotglue or something to affix the usb wireless emitter inside your laptop.

    I hope that makes sense.
I am trying to save you time and the hassel, cause the mini pcie interface can be a challenge to deal with
