    What is the different between Core 2 Extreme X9000 SLAQJ and SLAZ3?
    The 2 specs are identical according to Intel. Why did they make two batches? Is one better than the other?

    Probably just a different manufacturing plant. Like "Costa Rica" or "Malay", they often have several fabrication plants that manufacture the same processor, they simply named it differently for identification/warranty/bug issues purposes. They are likely identical though.

    The other thing I can think of is that one of them could be the OEM version, and one is retail. Not sure if this is the case though.
