I like big notebooks I cannot lie...

We are already up to 18.4 laptops, but unfortunately at a resolution of 1920x1080.

Would you be interested in a proper 20" notebook with 2560×1600 screen ?

I guess it would weigh around 16 pounds; heavy but still carriable.

It also could house some serious hardware.

The dell m2010 wasnt really a notebook. It was a notebook-desktop hybrid. Plus, it only had a WSXGA+ screen.

    Yes yes i would.

Assuming it had a decent GPU (doesnt have to be top of the line just decent)

    A good Quad/Octo core CPU

Ran ice cold with great cooling

And had at least 4 hard drive bays

oh yeah, capable of supporting 4+ RAM Modules

I would purchase it in a heart beat. Though the screen res could be as low as 1920x1200 and i would still think it a good buy

They did make a QXGA(2048x1536) IPS LCD for the ThinkPad R50p. I think they usually go for around $300 if you can find one. I know others have thrown them in select ThinkPads with some modifications. Perhaps a R60, which I know uses the same cable regardless of the screen, could be worth a look, but it may be wishful thinking on my part.

Yup, but a QXGA screen on a 15" laptop is overkill.
WQXGA on a 19"-20" laptop would be very nice though.

When the materials being used are super light then that would be a good notebook as well.. I don't mind choosing a portable desktop to carry around with me if it's not heavy. Or an alternative would be to get stronger muscles so carrying such a notebook would feel light in your terms.. lol

i take any res.. :) can never be big enough. and if it would be movable, why not?

i have my tiny portable notebook, so a bigger one, not really portable could be nice. but then again, what for? :)
