Where is the notebook non-gaming performance going to noticeably drop with Vista, 1 GB RAM among the following: T7200, T5600, T5200, T2250 or T2060?

Since many notebooks have Vista and 1 GB is it better to go with a Turion X 2rather than one of the above Intel CPUs with 1 GB?

Any of those CPU's with 1 gb of RAM for non-gaming should be fine.

What will this notebook be used for? Both the AMD X2s and the Intel Core (2) Duos will work fine for Vista, regardless of the clockspeed.

I agree with the others. Any of those listed CPUs will work fine. Unless you are consistently running CPU intensive applications, those CPUs are all quite powerful.

The C2D CPUs are very efficient. All of them will work flawlessly, provided that they are supplied by at least 1GB of RAM. Laptops with the AMD Turion X2 CPUs are often a lot cheaper. In terms of performance, AMD and Intel CPUs are the same level give similar performance. If a laptop with similar specs with a similar CPU performance ratings, I wouldn't pay extra just for the sake of having an Intel CPU.
