    I'll be accessing a wireless network and wanted to know what the differences between these are:

    ThinkPad 11b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Express Adapter III
    Intel WiFi Link 5100 (AGN)
    Intel WiFi Link 5300 (AGN)

    I've heard the 5300 is "top of the line", but I don't know what is better or what I need.

    Should I just get the 5300?

    ThinkPad 11b/g -> no N network support.

    5100 -> 1x2, which means 1 transmit spatial stream and 2 receive spatial streams.

    5300 -> 3x3, which means 3 transmit spatial streams and 3 receive spatial streams.

    If you're going to upgrade, go with the 5300, it should have much better performance than the 5100.
