    My Vostro just arrived and I wanted to know whats the make of the monitor...I entered my service tag on Dell support and this is what came up 15.4WXGA, VIDEO ELEC. STDS. ASSOC...., TLF, LATITUDE CPT... .

    Anyone know whos the manufacturer? thanks

    You can find your display model in Device Manager. Click on Monitors and then Generic PnP Monitor. In the popup window, click on the details tab and locate Hardware Ids in the list, and it will show you your display model. From this you can find out the maker of the screen, for example A SECxxxx display is made by Samsung, AUOxxxx by AU Optronics etc.

    What do you mean nothing came up? Under Hardware Ids it was blank?

    Under default monitor its basicly basicly blank..now I just tried"plug and play monitor".Hardware Id reads Monitor\CPT141F..So thats basicly same as what I got off dell support(line on OP) .What is CPT??
