I'm buying an HP HDX and was wondering everyones opinions on what processor I should choose. Obviously the BEST would be the extreme processor, but I'd like your opinion to relate to the price and which would probably be the best value. I'd love the extreme processor, but can't afford it. What do you guys think?

    Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T7500 (2.20 GHz, 4 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)

Hm... It seems as if when I copy and paste, it shows the actual price of the items. On the customization screen it just says "included in price" and goes up from the base price, which seems to be 400 dollars from the first processor listed. Anyways, what do you guys recommend. And recommend where to buy?

    THANKS!

I think the T7500 offers the best performance/$. But you might want to wait until the new T9300 is offered in the HDX (they are currently being offered in the dv6700, dv2700 and dv9700 series.

We need more info: if you're just doing casual gaming, go with the first.

Though, now that I really take a look, you're probably more than a casual gamer, or atleast a 3D renderer.

2.2 ghz on the intel core 2 duo is enough to satisfy almost all needs on a computer. Get the Extreme processor only if you have the money and you care to future proof your computer.

BUT, even in the event you want to future proof your computer, 600$ is nearly enough to buy a new laptop on it's own, so... I will recommend the first CPU or EVEN the second one.

I like the T9300 for $150 all the rest are way too expensive. If I was going to upgrade later I woud get T7500.

Seconded for the T9300. It's Penryn so not only will you see a performance boost, but you should see an increase in battery life too.

X7900 is just an overclocked version of the other CPUs. Personally, I would choose the T7500 and overclock it if absolutely necessary.

That seems high to me. When I look at frontierpc , the boxed T7500 is $250CAD and the T9300 is $360CAD

I would go with the T9300, it should perform at least better than the T7700. The T7500 does the job easily though
