    Hi
i have heard many bad things about i5 processors.
I need your advise, which processor is better:

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-430M Dual Core processor (2.26GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 2.53GHz

    AMD Turion(TM) II Dual-Core Mobile Processor P520 (2.3GHz, 2MB L2 Cache)

The i5-430M is a far more powerful processor and its only disadvantage is a 10W higher TDP.

    Agreed with the others :)
I guess you're looking for some reasons yo go with our answers.
Hmm, to me it's simple for now Intel for CPU, while ATI for GPU. :)

What bad things have you heard? And from whom?

The Intel CPU's are without parallel right now (and for at least a couple of years), especially in the mobile market.

Intel for CPU, NVIDIA for GPU ;)

What has been said that is "bad" about the Core i5?

The Intel Core i series are the best processors on the market right now, for both desktop and mobile parts. The mobile parts perform great, they generate a low amount of heat, and they have great battery life. There really is no reason to go with anything else.

Anyone who asks these types of question should always keep in mind that it's not expressly which component is better, rather, which one is best suited for your needs. Therefore, they are more precisely answered after you've supply your specific need or use.

Perhaps this is caused by Intel including the TDP of the IGP?
