I'm going to put it in an Alienware m14x which is Sata 3 capable so not sure if I should spend $80 more for a sata 2 just to get an extra 40gb of space. Kind of leaning toward the faster sata 3 510 just wondering if there is something I'm missing.

Is the c300 sata 3? I thought the c300 has problems with freezing and it doesn't clear out old files causing it to slow down or something???

If the Intel 510 you are referring to is from buy.com, you can actually get it for $240 if you google for buy.com coupons.

C300 is SATA III. As far as I know the problems have been solved.

The new C300 firmware is out. I updated today. No freezing yet.

Didn't have much before but once a day or so and had to do a hard power off.

Good drive. And I loved the price at $200.

Pick intel unless you want to deal with frozen drives, stuttering issues, BSODs and firmware updates.

I would pick 510 since your laptop is SATA 3 capable.

Actually looking at hundreds of Newegg reviews Crucial does just as well as Intel in reliability.
