    Hi,

I will be installing a GTX280M into my NP8662 laptop (in sig) but I have the following choices and am not sure which one I need.

    Thanks for any clarification.

I *think* it's 2.1, but don't quote me on that.

Should be the first one. The MXM 3.0 Type B format is the one they use in the current offerings (D900F, NP9850, NP8690, and NP8760).

Please don't order from Eurocom. Search around first.

You will need the MXM 2.1 Type III specification.

Since I am in the UK, my options are very limited. You either get one from the UK that will take almost a month to arrive indirectly or get one overseas quicker in about 5 days but with the potential of paying import VAT and having to do a wire transfer. Either way, it is a pain.

EDIT: I have just read about some horror stories about purchases from Eurocom. I will not be buying this GPU from them. Someone said that they ordered the GTX 280M and got the 9800M GTX sent instead. I will be ordering from Kobalt computers, better to wait a bit longer and be sure I get what I ordered.
