I am going to buy a HP Pavilion today (dv6500z) I am getting the 2 GB of mem. I am trying to decide which processor to get.

    AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-62 (2.1 GHz, 512KB+512KB L2 Cache ) Additional $75.00

    or

    AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-64 (2.2 GHz, 512KB+512KB L2 Cache ) Additiona $150.00

I will be doing a lot of digital photography editing and some light gaming (the sims 2). I want to know if there is a huge difference in the two, I am on a budget so want to know if the one is worth $75 more?

    Thank you in advance!

100MHz for $75 you must be kidding me. It's a rip-off and there's hardly any gain at all. You could easily overclock your 2.1GHz past the 2.2GHz of the TL-64.

AMD and Intel both have a "testosterone trap." The fastest available option is always priced with a ridiculously high price vs. performance benefit. Go with the 2.1 GHz, and don't even bother overclocking and voiding your warranty.
