I was wondering if you could get some good deals on black Friday/cyber Monday?

You can certainly get some deals on lower-end or mid-end laptops on Black Friday or Cyber Monday, and retailers tend to hold a lot of sales during major buying periods (back-to-school, for example).

However, imo the time of year is irrelevant outside of when the hardware is inside the laptop. I would call up an OEM and haggle over the price until I'm satisfied, just like if you were haggling over the price of a car or house. http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware/456885-aw-dell-ordering-advice-how-save.html
