I have a toshiba satellite m35x-s149 with the 1.5ghz celeron. I want to buy a 1gig ram stick this one from newegg from transcend http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208015 or possibly another brand if its around the same price (let me know which one you suggest)

My computer takes ddr 333 pc2700 sodimm memory, but there are some customer reviews that say the memory doesnt work with their system. One reviewer says to make sure the ram is compatible with your system, but the toshiba website doesnt have a compatibility list for my model. If I buy, and it doesnt work i cant return it because its not deffective. Does anyone know for sure if this will work in my system? TIA

The memory probably will work fine, however, if you want that added security, you may want to consider memory from some other manufacturers. Corsair, OCZ, Kingston, Crucial and G. Skill sell very good memory, and compatibility issues with them are lower. They may cost a few dollars more, but its money well spent, as their memory works fine.

Alternatively, you could try some memory and simply return it if it doesn't work. You will need to buy such memory from a place which will happily return it, however, as some online shops request a restocking fee.

If you buy from Newegg you can usually RMA for any reason within their time limit, though there's usually a 15% restocking fee.

Thank you all very much for your help.

Newegg has a G.skill module for around the same price here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231141 but i was hesitant becuase there are no customer reviews about the product, and the G.skill 512 module seems to be getting terrible reviews http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231037...

Would you all rather go with the G.skill module or the Transcend module i linked in the first post? I'll see what a few experienced people would buy between the two, bite the bullet and buy 'er and see if she works. TIA everyone you've been more help than you know
