If you had to choose between either (on a laptop)...

    4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 800MHz &
Hard drive Size: 250GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)

HARD DRIVE Size: 320GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM) &
    3GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 800MHz

what would you choose? What would be the benefit/drawbacks of each?
How would either of these compare to just

Hard Drive Size: 250GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM) &
    3GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 800MHz

    I think I would go for :

HARD DRIVE Size: 320GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM) &
3GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 800MHz if you intend to use 32-bit system

if you intend to use 64-bit system I would go for :

    4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 800MHz &
Hard drive Size: 250GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)

I rarely get more than 3GB going at once. So I would get the bigger HD.

It all depends on what you need.
Do you run memory intense programs? Go with system 1.
Or do you have lots of music/games/videos/...? Go with system 2.

    I'd pick whichever is cheaper.
