Only been a member for 1 day & my 2nd post already!

I am looking at upgrading my cpu from a t5750 to ...... don't know yet which is why I'm asking the experts, you lot.

I have a budget of £100 to £130 max. If you need to know what sort of software/things I use which will put a strain the cpu. I am running vista64, play some games every now & then (Halo, bioshock mainly). Do a little audio processing (Acid pro & Fruity loops).
I have 4gb of ram installed.
Am just looking to give it a bit more power to make everything run a bit smoother & quicker.

Anyone have any recommendations they'd be much appreciated?

    cheers guys

You've already got another thread running on this very same subject!

Creating duplicate threads, could result in you missing important information provided by other forum members, in one or the other.

    Hi there

Thanks for your reply, the previous thread was for advice on how to replace the CPU, this thread is asking for recommendations on cpu's for this system at my price range, so different from previous.

Thanks though for taking the time to look

Best bang for the buck is the T8300, followed by the T9300

There, now Mod close the thread.... :)

A Mod is a moderator. You might want to read the FAQ on here, or just a general forum FAQ.

I understand the search is down. But seriously, there are quite a few threads on asking this same exact question. And there is really no debate about it. So that is why I said "Mod close this thread now". You would still be able to see the answer. So all is well :)

The T8300 is regarded as the best bang for your buck intel core 2 socket p processor. However the T9300 is also a good deal as well if you get it slightly used or on sale. Both are excellent cpu's which will give you much more cpu power than your lightly older 5750. You would have to sell your t5750 to be able to get either of these cpu's in your price range.
I would check the buy and sell section here, a few members were selling their t9300's. Whether they ship to Europe is up to the seller.

The 5750 is naturally MUCH slower than a T8300 or T9300.
