    What difference to batt life does increase in CPUY speed make?

    Im particularly interested between the T2300 and T2400 cores.

    I havent been able to find any online comparisons.

    Any one able to help?

    0. both underclock to 0.95 and 1Ghz when on battery.

    Cool! I had no idea about that! (How can i test that?) :D

    So i guess that means that it really only operates at 1.66 or 1.83Ghz when plugged in?

    actually, it clocks down regardless of battery or a/c. it ramps up according to need. if you're running a processor intensive task, it jumps up automatically in increments.

    Unless you turn of speedstep in the BIOS, then it will work at whatever its max speed is.

    I know the CPU % increases and decreases according to the task , but thats in % not in 1.0Ghz or 1.66Ghz mode....


    Come to think of it, my old IBM P3 700Mhz notebook would show the speed it was operating at. ie if speedstep was active or not. I guess it should still do that for the Core Duo cpu's.
