I got a system exchange from Dell and they could only send me a system with a 500GB HDD. As a compromise, they said I could keep my SSD from my old laptop. I want the SSD to be my primary OS/apps drive and the HDD to be the storage. How would I go about preparing these drives for that function. The tutorial just shows how to place them in the correct spots. Do I need to clone the SSD? Should I wipe it before cloning? Do i need to do anything to the HDD to make it the storage drive as opposed to the primary drive? If it helps, I would be using a optical bay caddy and taking out the optical drive. Thanks

If it's the exact same model with the exact same specs, you can just pop the old drive into the new machine and it should work. Else you might need to do a reinstall, but there's nothing you'd need to do to it that you wouldn't have to do to a normal HDD.
