    Hey guys

I want to upgrade my 500gb hard drive to a 750gb one. I have found a decent western digital 2.5 sata 750gb hard drive,.

Now I need an enclosure to put it in so i can clone my old drive onto it. The problem is most of the enclosures say maxiumum 500gb, and some say alot less. Are there any ways I can do this with a 750gb drive?

    Cheers

    Alex

It will work in the enclosures that say 500GB regardless.
Generally they say max 500GB because that was the largest drives available when the enclosures were designed/made.

That is absolutely correct. The technology in these enclosures marked 500GB max, or 750GB max are exactly the same. And more, the new 1TB 2.5in drives will also work, no problem. The reason for this is that when these enclosures started production the reality of a 1TB 2.5in was non-existent. JKleiss is correct.
