    Hi,

Is it possible to put WLAN adapter to WWAN and connect it to WWAN antennas? I'd like to do it on one of Dell models, probably M1330 or E4300/E6400

Technically both slots are miniPCIexpress but maybe some Windows or Dell software stuff would would prevent me to use it that way?

Also does WWAN got physically separate antennas set or its cables go to WLAN antennas set? If separate set than is it fully 2.4GHz compatible?

Btw. There are always at leat two antennnas to one WLAN adapter. Do they use the same polarization or one is horizontal and one is vertical?

    Best Regards,
    Embrion

Won't work.. I tried it on the 1330.. the manual also mentions that it wouldn't work... although it fails to explain why.. I guess it's got something to do with one of them being underpowered..

Thanks. But what if I turn off WLAN?
Maybe it needs to be activated using Dell's wireless software.
Also, if it's only power problem, You could easly take power from WLAN slot by one wire.
To be precise I'm thinking about USB WLAN to MiniPCIe MOD. MiniPCIe got already USB + - Data, so only +5V needed, and it is easy to get it from for ex motherboard.

WWAN antennas will be different than those for WLAN, but other than that it should work. Just be sure to turn the Mini PCI-E slot on in the BIOS by enabling "WWAN"

Wish I still had an M1330 to test it for you, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be a problem.

    Quote from other forum.

On the other site, another user on the same forum with M1330 couldn't get it working...
