    Hi all,

i have a Asus notebook A6000VM (about 4 years old). On this notebook it is possible to run the DVD drive without starting up de notebook. So, you can listen to a music cd without starting your notebook. On the notebook there are several buttons to control the dvd player (ON/OFF, next, back start, stop, pause)
    So far so good.

Now sinds a few weeks the DVD drive is starting spontaneously, the led light from the ON/OFF button is going on en you can hear de DVD drive searching for media (DVD or CD).
After te searching is done, the ledlight from te ON/OFF button keeps burning en after x time the drive is searching again for media.
This is going on and on untill the battery is empty.
You can put the drive out with the ON/OFF button but after X time
    it starts again.
I say X time because sometimes there is no problem for days and sometimes it starts 10 times in an hour.

    I did try the following:
Running without the battery: no results, so it is not the battery.
Switchet all intergrated hardware in the bios off: no results.
Build out the complete DVD drive from the notebook: the ledlight from the ON/OFF button is going on spontanesly again after a period of time. So it is not the DVD player.

So, it must be something in the hardware but what ?
Can it be a defect condensator ?

If someone have any ideas about this problem please let me now.

    Regards,
