My Toshiba M35 crashed once again. Bad mobo I guess (5th time I think :-( I need to get some data off the hard drive.

I purchased a 2.5" to 3.5" adaptor kit so that I could run the drive in my desktop. However, the Toshiba drive has a different connector than that adaptor kit expects.

Are there adaptors that will allow me to read this drive in a desktop? Or is there some other alternative that would allow me to read this drive?

    Thanks,

    Belay that!

After removing the Toshiba shield, I found that the connector on the rear was actually removable, with a standard connector underneath.

ya... that connecter is a sata to ide...
lots of laptops use those to justify the cheaper and faster sata hard drives in old laptops requiring slower more expensive ide drives (even though when converted the fast becomes slow)
    glad you solved your problem!
