Is there a way to use one of my 460m's on a desktop board through some sort of adapter ?

Im building myself a new desktop, and i want to make it functional. However, im waiting for the 8000 series from amd or the new Nvidia GPUs, and i dont want to spend to much money on avideo card, only to have to be buying a new one later on.

So i though, since i have 2 460m's in my x7200, if i can use one of them on the desktop computer through some sort of adapter.

I remember reading a post in a thread where a guy tested a 7970m card on a desktop motherboard prooving it had no issues, and that the issues where on mobile platform, because of Enduro.

Where can i find such an adapter ?

I have adapted a lots of thing.

Im buying a low end LGA 2011 xeon, since im waiting for the ivy bridge xeons
I bough 2 sodimms adapters because i have a pair of sodims at hand, waiting for 32gb ddr3 registered ram at 1600 mhz
ANd i want to adapt now the video card waiting for new gen GPUs.

You might be in the right place to ask where but, for the most part special people get those adapters.

ASUS Trinity comes to mind, but it's old one.

I would think as long as you have a PCIe slot in your desktop board, you should be able to use any mini PCIe to PCIe adapter9, no?

If you can find a MXM to PCI-E x16 adapter and can attack a cooler to the GPU, then yes, you can. I don't see a reason to do it over getting a desktop GPU though.
