Hi everyone, I was recently thinking about purchasing a Sager NP8150, and I am currently weighing the benefits of an SSD with it's price. What I was wondering is if it is possible to (at a later time, when SSD's are a bit cheaper) replace the HDD with another hard drive. I am aware that things do change, but is it worth waiting for prices to drop?
    Many thanks,
    Zalgroth

Well, it is an easy change. And prices will come down. That being said, I have the 8150, put in my own ssd and put the hdd in a caddy in the optical bay, and it is fast. SSD is very much faster. I do a lot of photo editing, and it makes a great difference. But to the original question, I would check out the prices of the ssd I would want, then compare the prices of the reseller vs online. But it is a fast and easy change if you want to do it later.

And I think you will like your 8150. I love mine.

is is very much possible to change the hdd since sagers are built with upgradeability in mind.

i myself am waiting for prices to drop a bit before i go the ssd route. but my twin hdd setup is already struggling with random reads when im doing ae and ppro dynamic linking rendering...
