So i want to upgrade my ram from 1 gig to about 2.5-3. I heard upgrading ram is the simplest upgrade this is good cause i am a notebook novice. Anyways i am using the OS Xp Pro. How much ram can XP reconize? I heard vista can only reconize 2 gigs on the 34 bit ver.

    So in summary

32-bit OS's like XP and Vista can recognize about 3+ GB of RAM due to programming limitations.

The 64 bit versions of XP and Vista can utilize 4 GB of ram. In most cases, 2 GB of ram is more than sufficient for XP Pro.
You have a choice of getting 2 x 1 GB or a single 2 GB stick. There is no way you can get 2.5-3 GIG using that as, 2 x 1 = 2 which is obviously less than 2.5 or 3. Your laptop has 2 slots for RAM.

I think Newegg has some policies about international shipping. In short, they don't.

If you do get a single 2 GB stick, you can get 2.5 GB of ram.
