Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone has upgraded the Y550's CPU. It runs on an Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset/CH9M I/O Controller Hub, and that is supposedly optimized for a T9400.

I know some of them out there run on the P7350 & P8600 compared to the more common T4200/T6400/T6500, but I haven't seen anything higher than those.

    Thanks

Assuming that the CPU is swappable in that computer, you will be able to upgrade to any Socket P CPU, including the ones on this parts page.
