    Hello,

My UX31E Zenbook was only holding a charge for about 2 hours, so I decided to replace the battery -- which I purchased from a seller on Amazon.

I followed all precautions while replacing the battery, including wearing an anti-static wrist strap.

When I plugged in the AC adapter and booted the laptop with the new battery, the battery indicator showed about 74%. I kept it charging until the indicator showed that the battery was fully charged.

However, when I boot from the battery, the laptop shows like the first boot screen and then immediately shuts down. If I boot from AC into Windows, then remove the AC adapter, the laptop immediately shuts down.

This of course implies a problem with the battery -- and yet the battery indicator shows that it is fully charged; and the light indicator on the power cord, where it plugs into the laptop shows green (it starts out as orange when I first plug it in, and then shortly changes to green because the battery is fully charged).

I deleted the battery driver so that Windows would reinstall it, hoping that the issue was simply a communication problem between the laptop and the battery, but deleting the driver made no difference. The laptop simply will not run on the battery.

Thoughts? Suggestions? (Other than buying yet another battery.... Though I am going to replace the original battery just to make sure the laptop will, in fact, run on the battery.)

    Cheers,
