It can't be only up to 15W, the thing is supposed to charge a battery while keeping a laptop running.

It is a fascinating thing really, you can have displayPort 1.3, hdmi 2.0, USB 3.1, and a charger all in one. I suppose manufacturers that will only use a single USB Type-C port on their laptops will also offer a small hub with additional ports.

I hope not.. I rather have multiple ports rather then a single one... It's better for redundancy as if 1 fails, it won't take out the whole system...

Uh, no. The title said 15W when I made my comment, has since been updated.

    That's "super" mod!

    But what of audio streaming?
    That would be very unfortunate.

Combined above. Please delete this one.

To bad this this necessary feature couldn't have been updated too.

DisplayPort supports audio streams, does it not? It just doesn't support return audio.

As far as I know, no audio interfaces support DP. The next best thing is Thunderbolt (especially for a laptop), but has limited distribution.

In the mean time, Firewire, is still superior as it goes back and forth -- with no waiting, i.e. latency inherent to USB. Then again, that all depends on your work, and how complex it is.
