    Hello~
I've got a new laptop (asus w3j) that I want to hook up my 5.1 speakers to. Any suggestions as to what to use to do this? The soundblaster nx looked perfect (great reviews, USB 2, remote), but I cant find it in stock anywhere!
    thanks,
    Sam

Turtle Beach makes some decent USB sound cards. Creative also has a few offerings. Check their website.

M-Audio Transit USB. AC3 and DTS digital passthrough. Great card, I highly recommend it for the price.
